With the 2012 minor league season winding down, we stop to take a look back at our Pre-Season Top 100 Prospect list. Over the next two weeks will highlight prospect from the Top 100 who either exceeded expectations or fell far short. In the process of doing so, we will examine what fueled these breakouts or caused a player to struggle. This week we start with players who exceeded expectations and next week we look at those who struggled.

As we enter the homestretch of the 2012 season, teams will be able to expand their rosters to 40 players beginning next week. Some September call-ups will have little fantasy or real world impact, but there are some top notch prospects that could help clubs as they make a push towards the playoffs or start to rebuild for 2013 and beyond.
