FANALYTICS: Age discrimination at the top of the ADPs?

One of the curiosities of the Average Draft Position (ADP) rankings this year was the lack of love for Alex Rios. Rios had an accomplishment that only six other players could boast—he earned first round value in both 2012 and 2013. This is an elite group; the other members are Mike Trout, Miguel Cabrera, Clayton Kershaw, Andrew McCutchen, Robinson Canó and Adrián Béltre.

Yet Rios' ADP on Opening Day this year was #34 -- a third round pick!

Why was he drafted so low? Was it because he had been such an inconsistent performer prior to 2012? Or was it because he is 33, one of the older players at the top of the pyramid? Beltre is actually a year older, but he didn't fall nearly as far; his ADP was #17.
