FANALYTICS: The games we play

It has been a long time since I received such vitriol from as innocuous a column as last week's Master Notes piece. The core issue—whether poor drafters should be rewarded by having natural openings for surprise breakout players—somehow morphed into an indictment of my recent focus on one-month leagues.

Consider this column my means of reply. Yes, I've been hyping the heck out of the one-month games. Yes, I've been writing about it—somewhat surreptitiously—within the context of full-season material. And yes, I am also trying to get a new business off the ground. No surprises here.
