FANALYTICS: For love or money?

There is a mindset in some corners of the fantasy sports community that, if you aren't playing for money, you aren't actually playing. It's a line that's often heard in poker circles.

I agree that some fantasy formats are pretty much pointless without the promise of cash. For instance, I cannot imagine anyone spending the time to play the daily games if there were not prizes involved. But emerging victorious after navigating through six months of streaks, slumps and DL stints can provide a high level of personal gratification on its own.

For me, anyway.
