FANALYTICS: Strategizing the early rounds of the FSTA draft

It's rare that I come out of a draft thinking, "Wow, I really like this team, top to bottom." But that's how I felt after last week's Fantasy Sports Trade Association experts league draft in Las Vegas. This is a 13-team mixed 5x5 league that I've fared well in over the past few years (a title and two 2nd places since 2009).

There were two things that made this draft different from others. First of all, it was one of the few times that I had a partner at the table. BaseballHQ.com co-GM Brent Hershey sat by my side, and while I had done the advanced prep, it was nice to have someone to bounce ideas off of and to handle some management tasks when the pace sped up.
