The 1998 season was notable for a reason other than it being the inaugural year for Tout Wars. It was also an expansion year for Major League Baseball. The Arizona Diamondbacks and Tampa Bay Devil Rays brought the count of Major League ballclubs to 30 and forced the Milwaukee Brewers to move to the National League. NL-only fantasy leagues had to reassess their configurations with an expanded 16-team field.
If anything fell through the cracks with the organization of Tout, it was our decision regarding the size of the NL competition. Two new major league clubs were added to the NL so we just added two more teams to a standard 12-team NL league. Fourteen owners were...
