The Mayberry Method 3: Draft Planning

Many fantasy leaguers go into their drafts with target values for each Rotisserie category. The concept is that it will take a certain number of home runs, steals, saves and strikeouts to contend in those categories. Optimally, these are calculated from a specific league's past history, as that is the barometer of owner purchasing patterns. More often, general statistical benchmarks are used, though they may be less accurate.
Theoretically, once you've achieved a targeted statistical level, you can refocus your attention to another category. You've got 20 roster spots filled, you've met your HR quota but are short on steals. Time to draft Ryan Freel.
