PT TOMORROW: AL Central—Ben Zobrist to help KC at 2B and LF

The Royals have been busy acquiring Johnny Cueto (RHP, KC) in a bid to upgrade their mediocre starting staff. Mike Shears covered the impact of Cueto joining the rotation in PT TODAY here. The Royals also acquired Ben Zobrist (2B, SS, OF) from the A’s. Zobrist will help in the outfield while Alex Gordon (OF, KC) is on the DL, but he may also take significant time from the disappointing Omar Infante (2B, KC) at 2B. Zobrist will play every day. He has a six year streak of double digit HR and SB. So far this year in 235 AB he has only 1 SB and 6 HR with a .268 BA, but his xBA is .303 suggesting a higher BA the rest of the way. Zobrist may also run more with the Royals.
