WATCHLIST: Staff-ready arms

The WatchList column is a quick-hit, twice-a-week look at those minor-league players that due to an organizational opening or continued improvement are on the verge of a callup. Many of the players covered in WatchList will not be top-level prospects, but instead players that could hold some short-term fanalytic value in the right situation.
Chris Archer (RHP, TAM)
Year in and year out, Archer’s arsenal and strikeout ability (career 9.0 Dom) have placed him near the top of many prospect lists. While his high 90s FB and wipe out SL are both plus pitches for him, it is his inability to establish consistency with his change-up and his lack of command (career 5.2 Ctl, 1.7 Cmd) that has held him back in Durham.
