ALTERNATIVE: 2021 Simulation Draft Guide

Spring training may not be here yet, but simulation gamers; draft season is in full swing. Here is our look at this year’s draft pool consisting mostly of last year’s rookies and veterans cast aside. For our exercise, we focus on guys who had 17 at bats or 10 innings pitched in 2020 as eligible for the draft pool. Normally the minimums are 50 at bats and 30 innings pitched but most leagues voted to use a three times multiplier to “normalize” the 2020 season. For our average draft position rankings, we analyze the average draft positions in the first dozen published Strat-O-Matic drafts. They will be similar for other simulation formats with similar draft pools.
