KEEPERS: To Keep or Not to Keep—NL Pitchers 35-and-over

This week we move to the NL in our evaluation over-35 pitchers.  A reminder that there's always risk, and that one size doesn't fit all, depending on price and your alternate roster choices.  But keeper league and dynasty owners with short-term pitching holes sometimes need to consider older/past-prime names to be competitive, to buy time while their younger pitchers develop. Accordingly, our filter searched for pitchers fitting the following two criteria:

  • Pitcher must be age 35 or older as of April 1, 2013
  • Pitcher must have earned $10 or more in 2012

The lack of DH and offense-oriented lineups found in the AL may be in play here, as our filter turned up more starters and fewer closers in our NL search. But we did come up...
