KEEPERS: Spring training and the endgame

Life in SoCal per se treats me very well, but my proximity (5+ hour drive) to the Phoenix area makes the annual spring training trip in March a favorite time of year, for so many reasons. Phoenix is then home to 15 MLB clubs playing in the country’s best weather in a city with terrific eateries and breweries still criminally unrecognized by the national food media. This is also the time when my keeper league “endgame” begins—and spring training is a big part of that.

For most of March, fantasy industry energies are still being channeled into draft-from-scratch leagues/strategies, ADPs (i.e., how crowd-sourcing values players at a given point in time), all of the different leagues and team rosters, player shares, etc.. My personal...
