NFBC 50s: What are they exactly?

The National Fantasy Baseball Championship (NFBC), generally considered to be the standard bearer for “high stakes” fantasy baseball, offers two major draft and hold (D&H) formats: Draft Champions (DC) is the best known option, but the focus of this article will be the lesser-known NFBC 50s (50). D&H formats are ideal for managers who like to draft and are willing to set lineups but want to avoid the additional week-to-week FAAB decisions. 

The 50 is somewhat akin to the younger, smaller sibling of the DC. One advantage of a 50 is that it has a lower entry fee and financial commitment. DCs are intended for players looking to put the “high” in high stakes, so they start at a $150 price point and...
