I’m not a psychologist, and I don’t play one on TV. Who knows, perhaps I’m related to Alfred Adler, the founder of the school of individual psychology. But even if not, I am in need of an evaluation, to see what happened in AL-LABR in 2016, when I finished seventh.
Self-assessment: AL-LABR in 2016
Any evaluation needs to include a summary of what went right. Some of my late picks—a $5 Roberto Osuna (early March, before being named closer), $2 Gary Sánchez and a reserve Michael Fulmer—worked out quite well. While I generally don’t like to tie up my DH slot with a player who plays nowhere else, a $18 David Ortiz certainly didn’t hurt my bottom line.
The goal in 2016 was to put together a cheap, high-skilled pitching staff (less than $40)...
