Is there value in mock drafts? The vast majority of fantasy players of all levels think that there is. But the assertion that mock drafts have value is often stated without examination, as if the answer ("Yes") is beyond any serious debate, and to say otherwise is the height of folly.
The value of doing mock drafts depends on your skill level. There are two main areas of knowledge that might be obtained by doing mock drafts: learning about players and actual draft tactics. Let's take a look at "tactics."
