ROTISSERIE: The benefits of mock drafts

Last month, Patrick DiCaprio outlined the shortcomings of mock drafts. Specifically, the danger of using mocks to establish a player’s market value or to judge if a particular tactic was successful was sagely discussed.

However, some allowances were made whereby mock draft can indeed be useful.  The following will recommend approaches to mock drafting that will maximize their utility, regardless of one’s level of expertise. Just remember to ignore any implications with respect to a player’s draft position or rate how well you did. The recurring theme is going to be the more puzzles you solve, the better you become at solving puzzles.
