Here are some more names with shifting outlooks due to off-season player movement -- as well as injuries that impacted their 2011 performances and/or could put them behind the eight-ball to begin 2012. Once again, we consider their immediate and three-year outlooks.

Most managers in auction-format leagues can name a time in which they had either spent too much on a player during an auction, or conversely, didn't spend enough on that player who was coveted pre-auction. In today's column, we explore the concept of "auction fever," or the tendency to over-bid in auctions, and how it may affect the auction-format fantasy baseball manager.

However, fantasy players can salvage one benefit from all the rancor over how to divide up millions (or even billions) of dollars. After all, at least some of the issues owners and players tend to squabble over, like competitive balance and freedom of player movement, are also concerns for fantasy leagues. This past fall's NBA negotiations yielded one such nugget for fantasy owners to consider: the concept of "amnesty," which found its way into the final collective-bargaining agreement and has already resulted in a couple star players finding new homes (like the pictured Baron Davis).

Sure, the landscape still has time for more change prior to Opening Day, and some speculation is involved – but KL owners who are active now should pay attention. The names listed below were all mentioned in our "dynasty reload" series -- and their immediate opportunities have improved markedly since then.

Veteran fantasy owners know that identifying position scarcity is as important as finding stolen bases on Draft Day. If you don’t identify the positions without depth before your draft you will definitely be the last one standing without a chair when the music stops.

The potential 50-game suspension of the National League’s reigning MVP rocked baseball and dramatically changed the early rounds in fantasy baseball.

We will assume a 50 at-bat minimum and 30 innings pitched minumum eligibility requirement in a 20-team mixed league.
