DAILY MATCHUPS: Going, going, Gonsolin!

Today's Overview/Schedule/Weather: Thanks to a doubleheader in Queens (ATL@NYM), there’s 16 games on today’s slate. Both games will have to contend with some rain and 10+ MPH winds, but a delay/postponement does not seem likely; 10+ MPH winds are also expected in San Francisco (TEX@SF).

 

Notable Starts: 

Tony Gonsolin may not have the best matchup rating on the board, but he looks poised to capitalize on the Rockies’ recent trends. In the last 14 days, Rockies hitters have the fourth-worst strikeout and walk rates and a Bottom-3 wRC+ when facing RHP. While Gonsolin has surrendered at least one home run in each of his last six starts, the Rockies have hit the fourth fewest home runs in MLB when playing away from home.
