DAILY MATCHUPS: Sunday, lefty Sunday

As a way to preview the day's games, the 2014 Daily Matchups column seeks to highlight the outliers or notable matchups on the HQ Pitcher Matchup tool (also available as an 8-day scan). For more information on how to leverage the report, see our research article from 2012.

Today’s schedule overview:  Fifteen games are on Sunday’s docket. Those contests include a trio of interleague matchups (STL-at-BAL, SF-at-KC, TAM-at-CHC). The lone night game has the Nationals visiting the Braves. Sunday’s action will see an abundance of southpaw starters; a lefty will tow the rubber in nearly half of the day’s 30 starts.
