Maeda could surprise vs. former team

Today's Overview/Schedule/Weather: We've got 17 games on the slate today (two doubleheaders, NYY-at-CLE, and MIN-at-DET), with the first game of a doubleheader in Cleveland at 12:10 PM (EDT). With seven games projecting for 9+ runs, we could be in store for some offense today. Rain is on the West Coast, threatening WAS-at-OAK and SD-at-LA, and the weather could also impact LAA-at-BOS.

Notable Starts:

Kenta Maeda was better, albeit not great, during his last outing against Oakland (5.2 IP, 3 ER, 3 K, 1.05 WHIP). Now, he gets the Twins, who have been striking out at an alarming rate (29.7% vs. RHP). Minnesota also ranks last in wRC+ (70) and wOBA (.264), making Maeda the top-ranked pitcher for today's matchups.
