AL Central: Cade Smith could see post-deadline spike

Cleveland Guardians

The front office is in a tough spot a week before the deadline. There have been trade rumors swirling around several players who could net a sizable return if dealt, including Steven Kwan, Emmanuel Clase, and Shane Bieber. But with 11 wins in their last 13 games, the Guardians suddenly find themselves just 2.5 games out of the final Wild Card spot.

If Clase is indeed available, he would be among the top arms on the market. He is tied for 5th in the league with 23 saves this season following three consecutive seasons finishing with 40 or more saves.

Should Clase be on the move, Cade Smith would be the obvious candidate to jump into some save chances. The 26-year-old owns a 33% K% and 16.1% SwK across 46 appearances....

Almost!
