In an unexpected turn of events, Ryan Kreidler has now started at shortstop for Minnesota's last four games, as Tristan Gray's grip on the position in the wake of Brooks Lee moving to 3B has faltered, and Orlando Arcia was designated for assignment. Twins manager Derek Shelton has been very happy with Kreidler's defense at short, saying “He’s played about as well as you can play defensively. The two games in Arizona, in the first inning he made an unbelievable play on the (ball) from Carroll. He made a really good play later in the game. Those factors contribute.”
Kreidler has also been surprisingly good with his bat this season, batting .282/.365/.506 with 4 HR over 96 PA, and his skills look equally promising: 80%...
