AL East: Horwitz providing a spark for Jays' struggling offense

In search of fixes for its struggling offense, Toronto has turned to a pair of prospects, promoting Spencer Horwitz on June 8 and Addison Barger on June 14. Horwitz and Barger replaced Cavan Biggio and Daniel Vogelbach, who were both designated for assignment, on the team’s active roster.

Since his promotion, Horwitz has become a mainstay at the top of Toronto’s lineup against right-handed pitching, starting all seven games against righties and hitting leadoff in six of seven games (hitting second in the one game he did not lead off).
