Toronto’s offseason acquisition of Jesús Sánchez complicated the team’s outfield picture, as it seemingly left Nathan Lukes, a key member of the 2025 American League champions, without a clear role. For much of the offseason, the belief was that Sánchez would fill a strong-side platoon role while Lukes would be relegated to a fourth outfielder role.
