After a tumultuous 2023 season, Alek Manoah is expected to enter camp as the favorite to open the season as Toronto’s fifth starter. Given Manoah’s struggles (5.87 ERA/5.87 xERA before being demoted to the minors in June), his hold on a rotation spot should be considered tenuous at best and spring struggles could open the door for another pitcher to claim his spot.

Toronto added to its pitching depth with the addition of Cuban pitcher Yariel Rodriguez, who agreed to terms on a 4-year, $32 million deal with the team in January.
