AL East: Rogers impresses in 2025 debut

As has been noted in recent editions of Playing Time Today, Baltimore has been searching for solutions for its struggling starting rotation (5.54 ERA, 29th in MLB). With injured starting pitchers Grayson Rodriguez, Kyle Bradish, and Tyler Wells not expected back any time soon, the team will need to rely on its internal options.

After Baltimore designated Kyle Gibson for assignment, they gave an opportunity to Chayce McDermott (pitching in bulk following an opener). However, McDermott’s opportunity was temporary, as he struggled (4.2 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 2 K, 5 BB) and opened the door for Charlie Morton to reenter the rotation
