AL East: Who's on first in Tampa Bay?

Jonathan Aranda was a fixture in the Rays’ lineup, and at first base, before landing on the IL on August 1 due to a left wrist fracture. Before the injury, Aranda was having a breakthrough season, hitting .316/.394/.478 in 409 PA. As of this writing, it remains to be seen whether Aranda will be able to return this season. Tampa Bay recently issued an update that Aranda is not yet at full strength but his symptoms are improving and he has begun taking dry swings.

When Aranda first landed on the IL, Tampa Bay gave Yandy Díaz more reps at first base rather than designated hitter, allowing the team to rotate its designated hitter. However, the August 15 promotion of Bob Seymour altered the team plans.
