The defending WS champs entered 2024 with a stacked offense (now minus Josh Jung) and an unremarkable rotation with hopes that walking wounded SPs Max Scherzer, Jacob deGrom and Tyler Mahle would offer a 2H (and postseason) pitching boost. But in his first outing of the season last weekend at AAA-Round Rock, former 2021 1st-round pick (and second overall pick in that draft) Jack Leiter has also served notice that he may finally be tapping into his potential.
