With Max P. Muncy sidelined with a fracture in his left hand, the A’s need a 3B replacement. Currently, Darell Hernaiz has been locked into 3B, but the A’s have some other options if Hernaiz can’t produce. He’s currently hitting .224 on the season with a home run and two steals. Since taking over the starting role, Hernaiz is hitting .227, without a home run, while walking and striking out 12% of the time. The A’s may need to tap into those other 3B options.
The A’s called up Brett Harris when Muncy landed on the IL, but he has yet to play. He was hitting .274 at AAA with two home runs and three walks, while striking out 23.4% of the time. Harris may be worth a start or two soon to see what he can do compared to...
