AL Central: Angel Martínez taking advantage of opportunity

Angel Martínez (SS, CLE) got a late start to the season after he suffered a foot contusion late in spring training, then a fractured hamate bone when he started a rehab assignment. He hit well upon his return and received a brief cameo with Cleveland in late June when Gabriel Arias (SS, CLE) was on the family medical emergency list. Martínez was in the lineup and batting ninth in back-to-back games before he was returned to AAA-Columbus. It didn't take long for the 22-year-old to earn a recall and surprisingly, he has found himself in a prime spot in the lineup.
