DIVISIONAL OUTLOOK: AL Central—Chisenhall sent down

A day after manager Terry Francona expressed confidence that Lonnie Chisenhall (3B, CLE) was about to turn his season around, the Indians sent him to Triple-A Charlotte. Chisenhall was off to a .213/.253/.351 start and the Indians are very concerned about his inability to hit lefthanders (2 hits in 23 plate appearances). In 110 career ABs against lefthanders at the major league level he has hit .200.  His last three years in the minors he hit .234, .224, and .230 against lefties. The Indians still consider him their third baseman of the future.

While Chisenhall is in the minors, the Indians have lots of lineup options available. Mike Aviles (SS/3B, CLE) and Ryan Raburn (2B/OF, CLE) could both see playing time at 3B,...
