Aníbal Sánchez (RHP, DET) was ineffective in his last outing, as he lasted just 3 2/3 innings, while walking four batters. He has since been placed on the disabled list with a sore shoulder, which will keep him out for the rest of the month. The team appears to think he will miss just two starts, with José Álvarez (LHP, DET) getting at least the first start in his place. Alvarez posted a less than stellar 4.6 Dom, along with a 4.22 ERA as a 23-year-old in Double-A last year. He has fared much better in Triple-A this year, bumping his Dom up to 9.3 across 13 starts, with a 2.78 ERA.
