DIVISIONAL OUTLOOK: AL East—Is Gausman here to stay?

SP phenom Kevin Gausman (RHP, BAL) arrived a bit earlier than many had expected, tossing a PQS-3 in his major league debut May 23 against Toronto. The 22-year-old, 2012 first-round pick could perhaps use a bit more polish on his secondary pitches, but there seems to be little standing in the way of Gausman having an extended run in the Orioles' rotation.

Unless he proves unworthy of the designation, Gausman, a 9D prospect, is clearly ahead of Jake Arrieta (RHP, BAL) in the organization’s SP pecking order. Arrieta was called up last week to provide bullpen depth, but he was never used and then yielded his roster spot to Gausman.

Likewise, the recent spot starts of Jair Jurrjens (RHP, BAL) and Steve Johnson (RHP, BAL)...
