Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox top offseason question is whether to re-sign major league stolen base leader Jacoby Ellsbury (OF, BOS). Ellsbury once again this year bore little resemblance to 2011’s power-speed beast, but Ellsbury has enhanced his OBP with a slightly elevated walk rate a bit better hit-rate luck, allowing him to deploy his stolen-base skills.

Perhaps more importantly, Ellsbury is closing in on 600 AB. The ailments he has experienced in 2013 (wrist, foot, thumb) have been more minor in nature. Still, the qualities that have led to Ellsbury’s “F” health and...
