Hiroyuki Nakajima' s (SS, OAK) move to the DL with a left hamstring strain just formalized what had been anticipated: That Jed Lowrie (SS, OAK) would be the A's starting SS. Nakajima has a ton of work to do on both sides of the ball, and once ready, he'll likely receive the full three-week minor league rehab time allowed before the A's make a decision on his immediate future. It wouldn't be a surprise to see Nakajima spend most of the 1H in the minors.

A strained left intercostal muscle put Adam Rosales (2B, OAK) on the DL, and resolved the immediate 2B situation. Hot-hitting but powerless utility Eric Sogard (2B, OAK) will begin the season in a semi-platoon with Scott Sizemore (2B/3B, OAK), an arrangement that is...
