DIVISIONAL OUTLOOK: NL Central—Choo and Heisey heating up

Shin-Soo Choo (OF, CIN) enters post-All-Star break play with a 12-game hitting streak, during which he is 21-for-49. The current stretch is Choo's second extended hot streak of the season, as he posted a .337 BA and .554 Slg in April. Both had fallen steadily until his current streak began July 2.  Choo's hot July has featured a 32% LD%, 89% ct% and .326 xBA, lifting his BA to .287, and his season-long hit rate to 35%.

Chris Heisey (OF, CIN) has also swung a hot stick, 9-for-27 with seven XBH since returning from the DL in late June, though a HBP cost him some PT in the final week before the All-Star break. Heisey seems to be gaining LF playing time at the expense of Xavier Paul (OF, CIN), who got the bulk of PT vs. RHP...
