DIVISIONAL OUTLOOK: NL West—Arenado demoted, ARI OF getting thin

Update: After Nolan Arenado's (3B, COL) strong start led to talks of him nabbing the third base job, he cooled off considerably and failed to draw a walk in 52 plate appearances. He will begin the season as the starting third baseman for Triple-A Colorado Springs. When he gets called up to the majors will depend on his performance, which will need to be much better than the .285/.343/.466 line he posted with Double-A Tulsa in 2012.

With Arenado out of the mix, Chris Nelson (3B, COL) figures to see the majority of action at third base in the early going. He finished strong in 2012, hitting .347 over his final 170 at-bats, but a 44% hit rate keyed that hot streak. Jordan Pacheco (3B, COL) will likely push him for time as...
