DIVISIONAL OUTLOOK: NL West—Brothers returns following Betancourt's injury

Rafael Betancourt (RHP, COL) blew two of his first three save chances after coming off of the disabled list, and suffered an elbow injury in his most recent outing. While the original diagnosis is a sprained elbow, there is reportedly fear within the organization that a ligament is torn. MRI results aren't yet known at the time of this writing, but it doesn't look good for Betancourt and his owners.

Rex Brothers (LHP, COL) was stellar while Betancourt was out before, and it appears as if the closer job will be his once again. Other than a May 25 appearance in which he allowed an inherited runner to score in the seventh inning and was charged with a blown save, Brothers has converted all 11 opportunities this season.
