DIVISIONAL OUTLOOK: NL West—Bullpen problems continue in Arizona

Since we last touched on the Arizona bullpen in this space, J.J. Putz (RHP, ARI) returned from the disabled list, but blew his first save chance, and was replaced by Heath Bell (RHP, ARI) as the team's closer. He converted his first opportunity, which was his 15th save of the season, but has blown both of his save opportunities since. Manager Kirk Gibson expressed his frustration after the most recent blown save, and indicated he was going to consider his options.

Should Bell lose his grip on the closer role, going back to Putz would certainly be an option, but he is a major part of Gibson's frustration to date. He could also turn to David Hernandez (RHP, ARI), but his ERA sits at 4.69, and he's allowed 13 earned...
