DIVISIONAL OUTLOOK: NL West—Pennington, Helton off to very slow starts

After a horrendous 2012 campaign, Cliff Pennington (SS, ARI) is off to another very slow start offensively. He still has some time to turn things around, but there are a couple of threats to his playing time should his struggles continue. It was originally thought that Willie Bloomquist (SS, ARI), sidelined with a strained oblique, could be back by mid-April, but he has yet to begin his rehab assignment. At the age of 35, Bloomquist still possesses excellent speed, but getting on base is a problem.
