NL West: Merrill, Profar provide stability in SD outfield

Heading into the season, the Padres had significant question marks in both LF and CF. The unexpected performance from two unexpected players has produced stability at both positions through the first four weeks of the season. Can Jurickson Profar and Jackson Merrill, who are second and third on the team behind only OF Fernando Tatis, Jr. in RAR, continue to produce in their everyday roles?

Profar, who spent the 2020-2022 seasons with the Padres and rejoined the team in September of last season after being released by the Rockies, signed a 1-year, $1 million contract with the Padres in February. Despite the belief from many that the Padres would sign another free agent OF, Profar has started all 25 games for the Padres...
