AL Central: Moncada closing in on return

Yoán Moncada (3B, CHW) went down with an abductor strain in April and hasn't been seen since. With nothing to play for, it was starting to look like he may not make it back on the field at all this season. However, the 29-year-old started up a rehab assignment on Tuesday, with eyes on a September return.

Moncada hasn't topped 14 HR since 2019 and can't be expected to make a significant impact. But he doesn't have much competition for the job at third base upon his return. Lenyn Sosa (3B, CHW) and Miguel Vargas (3B, CHW) have been splitting time at the position lately and both sport a sub-.600 OPS for the season.
