Will the Reds get 2023 Matt McLain or 2025 Matt McLain?

The Reds enter 2026 training camp with an interesting young team for manager Terry Francona in his second season with the Reds. That roster includes 26-year old ace Hunter Greene and one of the most intriguing hitting prospects in baseball, Sal Stewart. They've reunited with third baseman and home run masher Eugenio Suárez. However, the biggest question on their roster doesn't involve any of those players. The biggest question for the Reds heading into 2026 spring training camp is will the real Matt McLain please stand up?

McLain burst onto the scene in 2023 with a .290/.357/.507 slashline, 16 home runs and 14 stolen bases in 403 plate appearances. He lost all of 2024...
