NL Central: The Skenes watch is on

The Paul Skenes (RHP, PIT) watch is on in Pittsburgh. The number one overall pick from 2023 has already taken two turns through the Triple-A Indianapolis Indians rotation, throwing three scoreless innings on each occasion while maintaining an 11:1 K:BB. In an interview Sunday, general manager Ben Cherington stated the obvious in that Skenes can help the big-league club this season. Simultaneously, he unsurprisingly declined to give a timeline of when he could arrive in Pittsburgh. A few things could weigh in favor of Skenes’ arrival coming relatively quickly. 

The first is the current state of the Pirates. Regardless of whether their 8-2 start is legitimate, the Pirates are off to a hot start and should hang around...
