NL East: Dylan cruises into the nation's capital

The Washington Nationals are one of four teams more than seven games out of the final Wild Card spot heading into play on Friday, but the rebuild they've been piecing together since trading away their 2019 World Series core is coming together nicely. James Wood has settled in since being called up on July first with an impressive .289/.379/.458 triple slashline, five home runs and seven stolen bases over 190 plate appearances. He's sporting a wRC+ of 137 during that time and has moved up in the lineup, now hitting second.

On Monday, he'll be joined by the Nationals first round draft pick from a year ago, Dylan Crews. The 22-year old Crews has been, well, cruising in the minor leagues this season, with a .274/.343/.446...
