The Marlins waved an early white flag trading two-time batting champion Luis Arráez to the Padres in exchange for a slew of young prospects. It opens up a clear path to playing time for 26-year-old switch hitter Vidal Bruján to finally get a run at full playing time.

Bruján was a popular fantasy speculation pick up when he was called up be the Rays a few seasons ago because he's put up some ridiculous stolen base seasons in the minors, including swiping 58 bags across two levels as recently as 2021. However, in sporadic major league playing time he hasn't really gotten on base enough to push his advantage there.
