NL West: Vodnik locked in as closer in COL

On July 11, Rockies RHP Victor Vodnik recorded his second save of the year. With RHP Seth Halvorsen now sidelined with a flexor strain in his right elbow and the Rockies having gone 14–16 since the All-Star Break, Vodnik has now recorded four saves since August 12 and has quietly become quite relevant for teams looking for saves down the stretch. There is no guarantee that the Rockies will continue to play even close to .500 ball the rest of the way, and Halvorsen could return from the IL prior to the end of the season, but right now, Vodnik has a solid grip on the closer role and could retain it even if, or when, Halvorsen returns.
