PLAYING TIME TOMORROW: AL East—In BAL, this year’s Josh Harrison?

Jimmy Paredes (3B, BAL) continues to make a case for playing time in Baltimore. Surprising as it may sound, Paredes is essentially serving as the Orioles’ everyday DH against right-handed pitching and hitting high in the lineup, either second or third. There’s no guarantee the arrangement will last. However, Paredes is not exactly giving the team incentive to reconsider, either. Through Saturday, Paredes was 12-for-30 with 3 HR and a stolen base, and is making good contact and hitting the ball with authority. As mentioned in this space last week, Paredes had an excellent spring. He is just 26 years old and posted a .318/.348/.477 line with 13 HR and 37 SB at AAA-Oklahoma City in 2012. Perhaps it was indeed too early to...
