As we stated last week, Dallas Keuchel (LHP, CHW) wasn’t long for the rotation with staff ace Lance Lynn (RHP, CHW) set to start his rehab assignment (he did, as he went three scoreless innings with three Ks in his Triple-A debut), but Keuchel’s stay in the rotation was shorter than expected, as he was designated for assignment the day after that article was posted. The road is paved for a quick return to the South Side of Chicago for Lynn if there are no setbacks, as he’s eligible to return on June 6. Expect Vincent Velazquez (RHP, CHW) to get bumped and Johnny Cueto (RHP, CHW) to keep his rotation spot (though it may be a tenuous hold).
