PT TOMORROW: AL Central—Now or never for Cuthbert

Kansas City Royals

Provided that Mike Moustakas (3B, FA) signs somewhere other than KC, now is the time for Cheslor Cuthbert (3B, KC) to show if he's viable MLB material. In 2016, a decent $9 earner emerged when he managed to swat 12 HR in 475 AB. Since then, it's been 140 more AB of negative BPVs—not exactly a ringing endorsement for a starting 3B in the big leagues. Considering the lack of any plus skills and the fact that he's out of options, who takes over if Cuthbert winds up benched early in the season?

Ryan Goins (INF, KC) is a NRI who managed to squeak out positive earnings despite a BPV in the teens and a career .222/.275/.335 slash with below average ... well, everything. Jack López hit .281/.332/.366 in 95 games in Double-A...

Almost!
